I’ve been searching everywhere for a sport drink that delivers the taste of Cascade dish washing detergent, and Accelerade Lemon-Lime delivers! I would give this product 5 stars, but it costs about 5x as much as Cascade powdered detergent, and it doesn’t clean your dirty dishes nearly as well.
Accelerade was a great product at a great price when they were independently owned. You could purchase their 3.82 pound size(56 servings) product of any flavor for just under $22.00. The company was then purchsed by Cadbury/Schweppes and everything turned for the worse. The greedy new corporate owners jacked up the price to around $35.00 FOR THE EXACT SAME SIZED PRODUCT! There were no improvements or changes made to the original product or packaging, the short-sighted new owners simply decided they needed to be greedy and price gouge the loyal customers who had been purchasing Accelerade for years. Accelerade now comes in new sizes with more up-to-date packaging and also in a ready-to-drink version but the prices remain grossly overinflated….especially for the flavors Orange and Mountain Berry. Just a consumer-friendly note from one of Accelerade’s former loyal customers who does not appreciate the senseless price gouging corporate culture that appears to be quite prevalent at the new owners of Accelerade.
Accelerade is a fine product, and I have been using for years with excellent results. I would ignore the stars and comments of the previous reviewer as he clearly wants to make a statement about the company – and not the product.
if it’s not on the REI outlet, then this is an OKAY option… i love the stuff, in any flavor. It is great for those who have sensitive digestive systems.
I just purchased and tried the Accerlerade Fruit Punch and I mixed it with a Fruit Punch Powerade ZERO. It makes it a little thicker but tastes alot along the lines of Hawaiian Punch so way more tolerable then with just water. You get all the good stuff in Accelerade (the Vitamin C & E, Protein) along with the added Powerade bennies of B Vitamins, electrolytes and no calories. The good thing too is that Powerade ZERO comes in pretty much all the same flavors that Accelerade does so you can mix them all and get past the bad taste that other reviewers have talked about. I am using this on the P90X workout and though this is the first day I’ve tried it I am happy to have it along with me for the ride!
