Not that quickly. The only way to get rid of pain signals is to fix the problem. http://www.hubpages.com/hub/Speed-healing-of-trauma-injuries-through-self-directed-regeneration

What you have is probably a complication from an old injury or posture problem the process described at that link works on them to.

I am a Dental Assistant and have been in the field for 2 years. The type of pain relief depends on the patients medical history. MAKE SURE THAT THEY DO NOT USE IBUPROFEN OR ANY TYPE OF ASPIRIN!!!! if they use this it will thin out the blood and when they have their 3rd molars removed it will not be able to heal as well because the blood will not be able to clot normally and may cause more bleeding than needed. I would ask the dentist that is doing the procedure what to take for pain because like I said before each patient is different than the other. just make sure that the pain medication is used in consideration and used sparingly. also use ice packs on the face and do not eat anything to hot or cold. also make sure that they do not suck on a straw because that will cause the blood clot to loosen and may tear the stitches.
Good luck! and if you have any more questions you can email me at emoyer90@sbcglobal.net
hope I helped.

I just had my two top ones out last week. The pain wasn't really that bad. If she can use over the counter meds then aleve works really well. I have a very low pain tolerance and didn't even find it necessary to pic up the pain meds that they called in for me. Just tell her to rinse regularly with warm salt water and keep an ice pack handy. Eat foods that are as soft as possible like pudding, jello, yogurt, soup... Lots of sleep helped too.

well i've heard of people putting vodka on their teeth that hurts, but being that we are dealing with an addict here, i can only suggest some orajel and plenty of tylenol.. truthfully, sometimes the pain u get with ur wisdom tooth, orajel doesnt always help the pain. u mainly need sumthing that will numb it well enuff.. try going to like rite aid and asking if they have anything that's really strong to help for the wisdom tooth pain. hope this helps.

The pacifier helped my daughter because of the pressure it put on the gums when sucking, but if you don't normally use one or it you are weaning from it, it is best to ignore that idea.
I used those little food strainers (the thing that looks like a mesh bag with a handle). I would put ice cubes in there and they would be happy for hours. You might want to put a waterproof bib on first because with the drooling and melting ice, shirts tend to get soaked. A lot of people put wet washcloths in the freezer and then let the baby chew on that. My daughter was happy chewing on anything she could get her hands on. Good luck!

I agree with the whiskey. It works really well and a tiny amount isn't going to affect them in any way.

Also, a couple years back when my wisdom teeth were growing in, my dad rubbed green onions on my gums. It was amazing how well it worked. Both the green part and the white part. The onions are pretty mild so it shouldn't hurt your little guy!

When my kids were little we had an old fashioned family doctor who was from England and had trained there, He suggested rubbing the kids, gums with a little scotch. It worked and I didn't notice any bad effects. My kids are both grown and neither is much of a drinker.
