a bunch of yada yada to fill the pages. I will be giving my book to charity. all it is, is eating natural foods and a very expensive line of his vitamins. gimme a break!

I bought this book the day it came out. His anti inflammatory diet is nothing new and with no significant medical substantiation for actual weight loss. In my opinion, he wants to sell a lot of supplements and become richer. His stories are obviously made up and corny. He even looks heavy on the cover. Random House should be ashamed! The book will BOMB. People do not need to take vitamins to lose weight. They need to eat sensibly and exercise. Tell him to stick to dermatology.

I wouldn’t sink my money into this book simply on principal. I visited Dr. Perricone’s website only to find that he sells rather expensive “Cosmeticuals”….pages and pages; hundreds and hundreds of dollars worth. And his books are fairly thinly disguised “plugs” for what he sells.

I reviewed the diet and found a fraction of the same good information I found on Dr. Weil’s website and his 8 week health plan. Although I have to admit Dr. Weil also sells expensive supplements, his overall plan is a LOT cheaper, with a LOT less science based sales pitches; and a LOT more common sense. For the same reasons I don’t like this book though, I don’t purchase Weil’s stuff either.

What it all boils down to is a change in a persons’s perspective on their own health and you don’t need a lot of money so much as a lot of hard work to do that. Having tried just about every diet under the sun, I have a well-honed talent for knowing salesmanship when I see it. I definitely see it here and I’m not falling for it. I hate that there are still people out there willing to cash in on the vulnerabilities of overweight people (like myself).

Kudos to Perricone for finding a way to make a lot of money and make a success of his business. I respect him for that. But I’m not going to join in filling his coffers.
